Veterans housing assistance in Marietta, Georgia

Marietta Housing Authority

The Marietta Housing Authority (MHA) has been given $195,141 annually by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help Cobb County veterans find affordable housing.

These vouchers can be used by eligible veterans who need support services from the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA). The services will likely be provided by the VA health clinic located in Smyrna, Georgia.

Veterans Administration

The Veterans Administration will refer veterans to the program, which will allow low-income veterans to live in private rental housing.

As part of the current program the rent will be based on each veteran's income. Veterans would pay 30% of the rent, while the MHA will pay the remainder of the rent and inspect the homes each year to ensure they meet the housing authority's quality standards.
